Protocol Compatibility

L2TP VPN UDP protocol is not fully compatible with cellular service. This is because UDP is a connectionless protocol, which means it does not establish a stable connection between the camera and the app. Cellular service can be unreliable, resulting in frequent packet loss and disruption of the UDP stream.

Alternative Protocol

To resolve this issue, it is recommended to change the transport protocol in the WEB IPCams app from UDP to TCP. TCP is a connection-oriented protocol that establishes and maintains a reliable connection, making it more suitable for cellular service.

Instructions

To change the transport protocol: 1. Open the WEB IPCams app. 2. Go to the "Advanced" settings. 3. Select "RTSP Transport Protocol". 4. Choose "TCP". By switching to TCP, the WEB IPCams app will be able to establish a more stable connection with the camera, even when using cellular service with L2TP VPN UDP protocol.
