Security Chip Error

TPM Setting Issue in Windows 7

Security Chip Error

A critical hardware issue has been discovered in Windows 7 systems, preventing the installation of the Security Chip TPM (Trusted Platform Module) driver. The issue stems from an unknown device hardware ID (ACPI MSFT0101) that indicates a Security Chip TPM setting error.

No Driver Compatibility

Unfortunately, there is no official Windows 7 32-bit driver available for the affected device. Users are advised to upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit in order to resolve the issue. Alternatively, a hotfix is available for Windows 7 64-bit systems that addresses the problem.

Affected Systems

The issue affects Windows 7 systems running Windows 10 21H1 or later. Users may notice a device with the hardware ID ACPIMSFT0101 listed in the Device Manager. The Intel Chipset Driver software and Intel Management Interface (MEI) are not responsible for installing this device.
