The 2024 Canadian federal budget allocates $42 million in additional funding for CBC/Radio-Canada for news and entertainment programming. This injection of funds will allow the public broadcaster to strengthen its newsroom and enhance its programming lineup.
Other Key Features
Besides the CBC funding, the budget also projects a deficit of $400 billion for 2023-24 and forecasts deficits of $398 billion for 2024-25 and $389 billion for 2025-26. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will table the budget on April 16, 2024.
