C-Murder Sentenced to Life in Prison

Rapper Found Guilty of Murder in 2002 Shooting

New Orleans, LA - Music artist C-Murder, born Corey Miller, was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday, August 11th, 2022, for the 2002 shooting death of 16-year-old Steve Thomas.

The verdict came after a three-week trial in which prosecutors presented evidence that C-Murder shot Thomas outside of a Harvey, Louisiana, nightclub on January 12th, 2002. Surveillance footage from the club showed C-Murder and Thomas arguing before the shooting, and a witness testified that he saw C-Murder fire the fatal shots.

C-Murder's defense attorney argued that his client was not the shooter, and that the prosecution's case was based on circumstantial evidence. The jury, however, found C-Murder guilty of second-degree murder.

C-Murder has been in jail since his arrest in 2002. He has maintained his innocence throughout the trial and has vowed to appeal the verdict.

In a statement released after the verdict, C-Murder's family said they were "deeply disappointed" by the jury's decision. They said they believe C-Murder is innocent and that he will be vindicated on appeal.

The murder of Steve Thomas has been a high-profile case in New Orleans for years. C-Murder is a well-known rapper who has released several successful albums. The case has also drawn attention because of its ties to the music industry and the violence that has plagued the city of New Orleans.

The verdict in the C-Murder case is a reminder of the tragic consequences of gun violence. It is also a reminder that the justice system can sometimes take years to resolve high-profile cases.
